LATESTBreastCancer.com set to launch

A new website was launched on April 26 to help breast cancer patients create personalized medical profiles and learn about treatment as well as other information relevant to their illness.

"The site is designed to help breast cancer patients quickly generate insightful and timely questions for their medical team. Regulatory, financial and other barriers can slow patient access to new treatment approaches. So patients need to do their homework and ask good questions," said Scott Cole, the founder and president of LATEST Medical.

The cost of creating the personalized profile is $35 per year and the way that LATEST Medical collects its information is through an "expert staff" as well as "existing Web content."

Breast cancer affects one out of every eight women in the U.S. and other developed countries, according to the American Cancer Society (ACS). Last year alone, more than 200,000 women were newly diagnosed with the disease in the U.S., while about 2,000 men developed breast cancer as well.

The ACS recommends yearly mammogram screenings for all women over the age of 40.
